Volunteers Are Love in Action
Service is an important part of our spiritual growth: It provides the opportunity to become better acquainted with other volunteers and it gives one a sense of ownership in our beloved Center.
Throughout the year there are many opportunities to serve here at WLCSL as well as the community at large. Currently the following teams have openings: Art Exhibits; Bookstore; Greeters-Ushers; Hospitality; Making a Difference (MAD) Team; Recording Team; and Youth Program.
I invite you to step forward and fill these open positions now so we can continue to provide the services everyone enjoys. If you have talents to share that aren't included here, let's create something new together. I'd love to hear from you at 482-4616 or dmhildebrand29@gmail.com.
Blessings,
Dora Hildebrand, Volunteer Coordinator
WLCSL King Soopers Cards
Our King Soopers Reloadable Card fundraising program is going very well. However, there is always room for more participants. It's a great way to support WLCSL without spending a dime. You purchase a $10 King Soopers gift card at our bookstore that is already loaded with $10 of spendable cash at King Soopers.
Before scanning your groceries, add more money to the card (with cash or a debit/credit card) and use that money plus your original $10 to pay for your groceries, gas (at Loaf N Jug), stamps, and gift cards for other businesses. Keep reloading and using the card every time you shop at King Soopers or any Kroger enterprise. WLCSL earns 5% of all funds loaded onto these cards.
Sacred Service Opportunities
OFFICE VOLUNTEER NEEDED!
If you enjoy office work and would like to be more involved with Whole Life Center for Spiritual Living, why not help out once a week in the office? We need someone on Wednesday or Thursday afternoons, for half-an-hour to an hour, to help out with simple tasks such as folding bulletins, assembling welcome packets, etc. If you would like to do this, weekly or otherwise, please call 224-1206.
Hospitality Team News
The Hospitality Team is looking for community members to serve on an on-call basis. On occasions when neither the assigned host nor other team members can serve, you would be called to step in as "Substitute Host"; you would receive at least 24 hours' notice. We will train you on how you can serve this community in a fun and hospitable manner. On service days, you would need to be at the Center an hour before and an hour after service to set up and clean up. This is a chance for you to find out, without committing full-time, whether "Hospitality" is your sacred calling. You will get the opportunity to see a different side of the community, and you will be blessed in ways you never imagined! If interested, please contact team leader, Tania Jones, at taniarjones@gmail.com or 970-692-9758.
Love in Action Team News
Love in Action Team: Congratulations to our newest service team - Love in Action -- that was launched on Sunday, March 18, with Judy Cunningham as its leader. This team is designed with the purpose of sharing love, comfort and support for WLCSL congregants who are experiencing a temporary life change due to illness or personal loss. Team members will provide cards, make phone calls, prepare meals, and visit people in their homes. Please notice the beautiful box on the table beneath the television. This is where you'll find information cards about this new service and forms you can complete to access this loving kindness. Just above this box is another beautiful box in the shape of a heart. This is where you place your completed request sheet. If you need some loving support and are nowhere near the Center, please contact Judy Cunningham at 970-744-4216, 303-550-4766 or judyc04@comcast.net.
Making a Difference Team News
THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE & GENEROSITY: Wow! The MAD Team was bowled over by the generous outpouring of support for our project to assist women in Safe Houses. The congregation filled three big containers to overflowing with donations of hair & skin products, socks, journals, toothbrushes and more. We delivered 36 gift bags to the residents of domestic violence shelters in Fort Collins, Loveland and Estes Park and helped make Mother's Day happier for women who are dealing with emotional, physical and financial challenges. Your generosity helped make these women feel loved and cared for on a day that is normally very tough for them. A million thank-yous to all who supported this worthwhile project!
